Taki Gamesa prominent mobile gaming network based on Polygon, has joined forces with tokenization platform Web3 Smart layer distribute a mini-game titled 'Pac Cat', based on the latter's spin-off nft collection, Smart Cats, through its Bored Button app in January 2024.
The flagship app of the Taki Games network, Bored Button's engaging games have helped it amass over 5 million downloads to date. Pac Cat will see each Smart Cats owner interact with their collectibles in an experience inspired by characters like Tamagotchi and Pac-Man.
Innovating Web3 accessibility in mobile games
Taki Games and Smart Layer seek to transform their $100 billion mobile gaming industry by leveraging Polygon's network, Rally Protocol's wallet SDK and their own expertise to make Web3 more accessible to gamers, merging player loyalty services with blockchain technology.
The Smart Cats collection, from which the Pac Cat mini-game is inspired, employs unique executable nft (xNFT) technology, allowing NFTs to run code and become apps and games themselves – a pioneering Smart Layer development. and the first on any ethereum-compatible chain. Each Smart Cat is a standalone game inspired by Tamagotchi, with which users interact through the token interface.
TAKI-nomics economics
By playing Taki Games' growing catalog of free games, users earn the native token $TAKI, which rewards players for their participation. To avoid the hyperinflation that occurs in many Play-to-Earn Web3 experiences, for every $TAKI distributed to players, the Taki Games team buys back and burns an equal amount. This creates a deflationary tokenomics system they have dubbed Takinomics, allowing the team to incentivize their users by creating a bridge of value from the lucrative gaming market through their token.
