Canadian art collective Sphynx Ink Inc. partners with OpenSea’s exclusive platform “Drops” to launch Winkles & Flam, an innovative digital collectibles project featuring the web3 space’s first cartoon duo.
Created by Oscar®-nominated filmmaker Adam Benzine and BAFTA®-winning illustrator Dele Nuga, Winkles & Flam, the ‘Cosplaying Canadian Kitties’, are adorable Sphynx cat brothers dressed in homemade outfits inspired by video games. A year in the making and featuring original hand-drawn art, the project differs radically from current NFT projects. It is not a PFP (Profile Picture). It also does not use generative elements.
Launching on April 3 with weekly content releases, rather than all at once, Winkles & Flam will run for five seasons, with hand-drawn image sets comprising a mix of free, fixed-price offerings and auctioned. Each set is inspired by an iconic video game, with an educational component, Winklepedia™, which focuses on the history of video games.
A Season Pass goes on sale today (March 27) exclusively through OpenSea Drops, limited to just 1,000 copies and guaranteeing purchasers all 30 Season 1 cards.
Winkles & Flam is the first major project to use Mint Foundry, Mintplex Lab’s next-generation visual metadata editor, which allows creators to edit and update information in real time, without coding knowledge.
