Chubby penguins has continued its unstoppable march through the retail sector with an incredible partnership with Walmart. As a result, Pudgy fans can now purchase physical products in 2,000 stores across the US, while holders of the NFTs featured in the designs will receive a share of the profits.
The latest move marks an extension of its Amazon initiative, where penguin experts launched a selection of toys through the supplier. This resulted in a rise in the popularity of the slightly chubby cartoon characters and put them on track for a successful 2023. However, now, as the Pudgy Penguins juggernaut continues to accelerate, its vinyl models and soft plush dolls are now on the shelves of the largest retailer in the US!
In a short video, the company’s CEO Luca Netz revealed that each penguin involved in the initiative has licensed their intellectual property from the set of original NFTs. Therefore, the owners of the corresponding tokens will get the rewards every time their image is sold. Additionally, Luca referred to the Walmart deal as the conclusion of Pudgy Toys Season 1, adding that Season 2 will quickly follow!
