In celebration of 20he anniversary since the release of their second album Meteora, Linkin Park has released a new music video whose main director is acclaimed NFT artist, Please. He “Lost” song was recorded during sessions “Meteorite,” which came out in 2003 but was never released.
Lost, which dropped on Linkin Park’s official YouTube channel last Friday, shows just how far the band has come since its inception. Most of its members are involved with the next wave of the internet and this is strongly reflected in the music video.
The video is directed by Emily. “please” Yang and Maciej Kuciara, both co-founders of Web3 video platform Shibuya, and features Mirai, the main character of Shibuya’s NFT-based anime web series. “White rabbit.”
The Lost video credits Shibuya as the production company for the animated video, with Kaiber, an artificial intelligence startup, also listed as a supporting studio. For those in the dark, Kaiber is an artificial intelligence studio that will allow you to generate animated video sequences based on the details you enter.
As for Shibuya, it is a video platform that allows users to purchase Ethereum NFT producer passes that allow them to vote on the type of content they would like to see created. This content can always be viewed for free; however, only NFT holders have the power to shape the narrative.
There could be more content based on this Linkin Park music video
Having said that, “white rabbit” is Shibuya’s first project. It’s interesting to see the main character of her, Mirai, in the new Linkin Park music video. However, it is not clear if there will be additional content around this collaboration, such as merchandising and NFTs.
The collaboration comes as no surprise to anyone who has followed Linkin Park artists, as some of them are heavily involved with Web3. For example, Mike Shinoda, the lead vocalist, is very interested in space. He has already released several NFT projects, such as artwork and a mixtape called Ziggurats. As well as being an avid NFT collector and investing in startups within the NFT space.
