Pixelverse has launched a closed beta version of its new browser-based game, introducing $TON microtransactions outside of its traditional Telegram platform for the first time.
This development is part of Pixelverse’s strategy to expand beyond its initial focus on minigames within Telegram, with the aim of providing users with a more immersive and interactive experience.
The closed beta will allow early fans to try out the game and provide feedback ahead of the planned public launch in late 2024.

The new game is set in Neopolis City, a cyberpunk environment where players can explore, complete quests and collect items.
The game mechanics allow players’ actions to affect the virtual economy, reflecting the web3 integration that Pixelverse is known for. This browser game marks a departure from the Telegram-based minigame PixelTap, which gained popularity through its use of TON’s blockchain technology.
Pixelverse had already seen success with its nft collections on the TON blockchain, which offered players various in-game benefits and exclusive content. The transition to a browser-based game with built-in microtransactions aims to connect the existing community of some 10 million monthly active users on Telegram with a broader and more complex gaming platform.
“We are leveraging our massive user base on Telegram to organically expand beyond the platform,” said Kirill Volgin, CEO of Pixelverse. “Many Telegram minigame users have discovered cryptocurrencies through these miniapps over the past few months, and we are now ready to offer them a richer and more complex gaming experience outside of the mobile ecosystem. Our next step is to deepen the integration with web3, going beyond hypercasual games to offer a more immersive experience.”
The closed beta is now available for early supporters and offers a preview of the game's features and functionality. The public launch is scheduled for Q4 2024, marking an important step for x.com/pixelverse_xyz” target=”_blank” rel=”noopener”>Pixelverse as it expands its offering and adapts to the changing web3 gaming landscape.
