The founder of the Telegram messenger, Pavel Durov, spoke about the future of the TON cryptocurrency.
At the Token2049 conference in Dubai, Durov explained how ordinary Telegram users can use Toncoin (TON). Starting April 19, the first payments in TON for advertising to the administrators of the Telegram channel will begin. Additionally, starting next week, users will be able to tip administrators on TON, and content creators will receive a share of the revenue.
It will also be possible to buy and sell stickers on TON as nfts, with sticker artists receiving 95% of the profits. Telegram will also have mini-apps where users can purchase crypto content. Telegram users can also share TON with other contacts in correspondence.
“Imagine if someone had this sticker as an nft when it came out a few years ago. I think the price increases with the challenge. What we have experienced again is that the stickers are very, very popular.”

The Telegram founder noted that Messenger users will also be able to log into their accounts using cryptocurrency wallets. Additionally, it will soon be possible to register the rights to an account name so that users can sell it if they wish.
According to the founder of Telegram, all innovations will be available to all users and no programming knowledge will be required to use the new functions.
“For the first time in the history of social media, you can directly own your username, sell it, auction it, buy multiple usernames and attach them to your account. “

TON recently appeared on the list of blockchain networks on which the largest stablecoin by capitalization operates. The first rumors about the launch of USDT on TON appeared in early April, when a joint speech by Telegram founder Durov and Tether director Paolo Ardoino at a cryptocurrency conference in Dubai was announced.
