ChatGPT creator OpenAI plans to create more customization resources for its abundant AI subscriber base to offer an overall improved service.
according to a Reuters report, OpenAI seeks to enable more user customization for its ChatGPT chatbot. The creator of ChatGPT intends to release tools that give business and individual users more control over the popular AI system. OpenAI CEO Sam Altman said the tools should also improve models for general and specific use cases. Addressing investors at a Morgan Stanley conference, Altman also said that OpenAI would build a platform that would sell APIs to others.
Last month, OpenAI announced the development of a chatbot update that users could customize to address concerns about AI bias. At the time, Altman explained:
“We’ll be releasing more stuff soon that will give users additional control over the system to behave this way or that way.”
In the midst of its user customization plans, OpenAI is collaborating with enterprise customers to program their models in certain domains. The Microsoft-backed company has also reportedly reduced hallucinations from artificial intelligence. AI hallucinations are incidents where the sensitive system confidentially issues an incorrect answer based on existing facts.

Altman revealed a global services partnership between OpenAI and management consulting firm Bain & Company. The collaboration would allow Bain to incorporate artificial intelligence into its clients’ operations.
Other use cases could also see companies working with OpenAI use their data to generate a copy of the model to alleviate data security concerns. For example, beverage giant Coca-Cola (NYSE: KO) is working with OpenAI and Bain to implement the ChatGPT and DALL-E platforms. Coca-Cola seeks to use artificial intelligence tools to create personalized advertising copy, images and messages.
Meanwhile, Altman suggested that investors should value OpenAI as a company capable of achieving the AI general intelligence agenda. Furthermore, the veteran entrepreneur and investor also suggested more investor control over how the AI platform works.
Despite OpenAI’s ambitious plans, Altman admitted that the San Francisco-based company’s AI system could not achieve 100% accuracy. However, the OpenAI CEO also added that he envisions apps like AI doctors and lawyers on people’s phones soon to emerge.
ChatGPT’s popularity has increased since its launch last November, with over 1 billion site visits. At the beginning of the year, the chatbot’s traffic reached 616 million visits.
ChatGPT Plus
Following the success of CharGPT, OpenAI launched a pilot subscription plan called ChatGPT Plus in early February. With ChatGPT Plus, the company charges users $20 per month for faster and more reliable services.
A February 1 OpenAI Twitter post read:
“We are testing ChatGPT Plus, a subscription plan that offers faster response times and reliability during peak hours. And of course the free tier of ChatGPT is still available.”
OpenAI also noted:
“We love our free users and will continue to offer free access to ChatGPT. By offering this subscription price, we will be able to help support free access available to as many people as possible.”
The company said that ChatGPT Plus is available for US users, but it will roll out to other regions soon.
