A history of unverified cryptocurrency claims
This is not the first time that rumors about cryptocurrency in GTA 6 have surfaced. Similar claims were made in previous years after a x.com/WatcherGuru/status/1540878673875722240″>Publication x and a x.com/WallStreetBTCX/status/1731812220479136231″>Leaked trailer with “BUY $btc” appeared, but these rumors were not confirmed.
In late 2022, the company banned the use of cryptocurrencies and nfts on player-run GTA 5 servers, and while Take-Two Interactive has explored the blockchain space with its acquisition of Zynga, which launched a blockchain game on ethereum, there's no indication that this will extend to the upcoming title.
The game is expected to be released in 2025 and any future announcements will clarify its features. As of now, there is no confirmed information about cryptocurrency features in GTA 6.
