The brand, which used the Bored Ape Yacht Club (BAYC) nft as a brand, was acquired by Hungry DAO.
Bored & Hungry opened its doors in April 2022 and gained recognition for its fusion of burger cuisine with the unique branding of BAYC nft.
Bored & Hungry shifts focus to Asia and the Middle East
Andy Nguyen, co-founder of Bored and Hungry, confirmed the closure on twitter.com/AndyTheNguyen/status/1777348448318267618″ target=”_blank” rel=”noopener”>a statement published in xstating, “Today we say goodbye to Bored & Hungry's original location in Long Beach, CA.”
Branding and franchising company Hungry DAO has acquired the Bored & Hungry brand and the restaurant's founding team will retain a stake in the brand, joining DAO as shareholders. He further added, “The support of the BAYC and web3 community helped us break ground by becoming the first to utilize ownership of the digital intellectual property asset and create a restaurant brand.”
Nguyen expressed his pride in the restaurant's accomplishments, stating, “We are proud to have made our mark and excited to see where the community takes it next.”
Although the original store closed, Bored & Hungry will soon announce its new location in the U.S. In the meantime, you can find Bored & Hungry at its permanent locations in Seoul and Manila.
