x.com/LayerZero_Labs” target=”_blank” rel=”noopener”>LayerZeroan interoperability protocol for cross-chain asset transfers, has integrated x.com/solana” target=”_blank” rel=”noopener”>solarium on its network to enable seamless connectivity between Solana and a number of other blockchains.
With this integration, developers can now take advantage of LayerZero's unified semantics to deploy applications natively on Solana or adapt existing applications such as DeFi protocols, nfts, games, and more.
This simplifies the development process and makes it easier to build cross-chain applications on multiple platforms, including rollups, layer 1, layer 2, and multiple non-EVM chains.
Expanding cross-chain connectivity
The LayerZero network now links Solana to seven major blockchains: ethereum, Avalanche, Polygon, Arbitrum, BNB Chain, Optimism and Base with plans to expand Solana integration across its entire network of 70+ blockchains after the final round of audits.
This broader integration is expected to support more complex cross-chain transactions and aims to facilitate secure and transparent communication.
Bryan Pellegrino, co-founder of LayerZero, said: “The Solana integration is incredibly important. Cryptocurrencies are designed to disrupt the walled gardens of traditional finance. However, sometimes we find ourselves creating these walls again, such as when two of the largest blockchains, Solana and ethereum, cannot natively communicate with each other.”
