Cardano-developed sci-fi shooter Chronoshot was added to the Epic Games Store wishlist on Tuesday, marking a notable step for the game developer and the ADA ecosystem. Charles Hoskinson, the founder of Cardano, x.com/IOHK_Charles/status/1810767795602477172″ target=”_blank” rel=”noopener nofollow”>voiced his excitement about this important milestone, stating: “Cardano Games on Epic makes me happy.”
Cardano-based game is coming
Cronoshot (Chronological shot) introduce A novel gameplay mechanic where time only advances when the player moves. This allows players to actively strategize, place shots, and plan moves against the opponent, increasing the tactical depth of the game. The game is currently in the Early Access stage and is available for wishlisting on the Epic Games Store, which is one of the leading digital distribution platforms in the gaming industry.
Development company RFLXT shared details about the game’s Early Access launch via a series of posts on x. They announced: “Big news! Chronoshot is now available for wishlisting at Epic Games, joining Chains of War and Flux Point Studio. We’re launching FREE Early Access to give more people ways to try out the game and our platform over the next few months of development.”
The move to open beta, rather than the traditional closed beta, is part of a broader strategy to involve the community directly in the game's development process to improve transparency and user feedback. “We want as many people as possible to see what we're doing, so we're moving directly to open beta/early access instead of closed beta,” the company wrote.
RFLXT also plans to integrate its platform more deeply with Epic Games. This integration will allow players to use a single RFLXT account across both platforms, facilitating features such as cross-play and seamless gameplay continuity. Additionally, the company is launching a beta for its http://RFLXT.com platform with Chronoshot, “a few partner Cardano games and Digital Double teaser pages before the end of the summer and will be showing it all off with demos at RareEvo.”
Chronoshot’s use of the Cardano blockchain includes dynamic nfts that provide new leveling mechanisms for characters, which are accessible to all players, including those who do not wish to interact with blockchain technology. It is worth noting that these nfts do not offer competitive advantages to ensure game balance is maintained.
The Early Access version of Chronoshot includes two single-player modes, Time Attack and Survival, both with leaderboards. RFLXT plans to introduce a multiplayer mode shortly after the Early Access release to further test and refine these features based on user feedback. The developers have not yet set a concrete release date, but aim to fully release Chronoshot in late 2024.

As for the Cardano blockchain integration, an external wallet is not required to play Chronoshot, although users will have the option to connect an external wallet to their RFLXT account. This flexibility is intended to appeal to blockchain enthusiasts and traditional gamers alike. The game will remain free-to-play at full launch, with certain in-game items, such as skins, available for purchase. These items are purely cosmetic and have no impact on gameplay.
At the time of writing, Cardano was trading at $0.383.
