Republican leader and billionaire businessman Donald Trump will be the first sitting US president to have meme coins.
Maybe magic internet money, but the president has some.
Once sworn in as the 47th president of the United States, Donald Trump would be the only sitting American leader in history with meme coin holdings.
arkham <a target="_blank" href="https://x.com/arkham/status/1877798018436456578″ target=”_blank” rel=”nofollow”>reported approximately $8 million in meme coins in Donald Trump's crypto wallet. The White House returnee owns $5.5 million in TROG tokens, $1.5 million worth of a TRUMP meme, 1.3 billion GUA coins valued at nearly $400,000, and $167,000 worth of TRUMPIUS.

Donald Trump used to be a crypto skeptic. That changed in 2024 when the Republican president publicly supported bitcoin (btc) and pledged to defend the right to own bitcoin.
The tycoon launched non-fungible tokens on the ethereum network, earning thousands of dollars in Ether (eth) from nfts. His wallet contained 496.77 eth, worth around $1.6 million at the time of publication.
Many hope and expect that the Trump administration will introduce a clear regulatory regime for digital assets. Donald Trump's nominees, such as Paul Atkins for SEC chairman, and appointments such as cryptocurrency czar David Sacks, suggest the elements of a cryptocurrency-centric approach.
Industry leaders also reportedly donated to Trump's inauguration and pressured him to sign an executive order within his first 100 days in office. The requested order would create a bitcoin reserve in the US.
