A climb to the top of the Open sea The trend list marks a new chapter for one of the first versions of Mickey Mouse. Originally introduced in the 1928 short film “Steamboat Willie,” this character recently entered the public domain.
January 1 marked a significant change for the first version of Mickey Mouse, as his copyright expired. United States copyright law, which limits the duration to 95 years, facilitated this change.
As a result, Disney's exclusive rights to this first rendition of one of animation's most beloved characters ended, sparking a flurry of activity on the popular nft market. Creators and collectors alike took the opportunity to celebrate and monetize this character who is now in the public domain.
