FIFA, the international governing body of association football, has announced that an nft launch will take place at its FIFA+ Collect platform on December 15, with 100 collectibles on Algorand that will offer holders the opportunity to get tickets to the 2026 FIFA World Cup final.
This will be complemented by the sale of an additional 900 collectibles on Polygon, giving buyers the opportunity to obtain match-worn items from the 2023 FIFA Club World Cup and FIFA-related VIP experiences, available through from OpenSea on December 19.
These launches mark FIFA's first with blockchain solutions partner Modex, the latter being its first launch on Polygon.

FIFA explores new ways to connect with fans
In a statement, FIFA Chief Commercial Officer Romy Gai said: “We are excited to embark on this transformative journey with Modex and take the FIFA+ Collect platform to new heights. Since its launch, the platform has been immensely popular around the world and fans from all countries now have the opportunity to own a piece of football history.
“These new releases, both this year and in the future, will provide football fans with a unique and innovative way to connect with the sport, while contributing to the growth of the digital collectibles market.”
