Shiba Inu Games, an affiliate company specializing in developing games for the Shiba Inu ecosystem, has announced a major update to its flagship game, Shiba Eternity. The collectible card game (CCG) will see a system revamp that will make previous accounts and collections incompatible with the new version.
Shiba Inu Games announces a major renewal
According to the new FAQs postedThe revamped Shiba Eternity requires players to migrate to new accounts due to a host of new features that are incompatible with the old system. “We understand that it’s difficult to let go of an account you’ve worked hard to build,” Shiba Inu Games said, “but we’re doing everything we can to make the transition as smooth as possible, including providing some amazing welcome gifts.”
Current players who are concerned about their past investments need not worry too much. While old cards and Shiboshis will not transfer, returning players will receive a compensation package designed to kickstart their new journey.
The allocation of these rewards will be directly proportional to players' previous achievements and possessions in the game. Specifically, the amount of Kibble provided will depend on the number of Shiboshis a player has unlocked, while Card Packs and Draft Tokens will correspond to the total number of Cards and Legendary Cards, respectively, that the player has accumulated in the old system.
An important feature of Shiba Eternity remains its integration with blockchain technology, in particular through non-fungible tokens (nfts). While the Shiboshis within the game themselves are not nfts, there are 10,000 unique Shiboshi nfts available on the ethereum blockchain. These nfts come with approximately 80 features across 6 slots, allowing for a wide range of combinations. Players who own Shiboshi nfts will have access to special in-game features, including participation in closed beta tests.
A key aspect of the nft integration is the utility these tokens provide within the game. Shiboshi nft owners can earn the native token, TREAT, every time a replica of their nft wins in seasonal tournaments. Not only does this system add a layer of passive income potential, but it also requires active participation through staking. “We do not intend this to be simply passive earning, so the Shiboshi nft holder must take action (staking) in order to earn TREAT,” the FAQ section states.
The game mechanics are strategic and revolve around the selection and use of Shiboshis and their characteristics. These characteristics are critical as they determine which cards can be played, influencing the outcome of duels. Players must carefully select their Shiboshi's discipline, such as Chewjitsu or Bite Thai, which significantly affects gameplay by focusing on different strengths and strategies.
Regarding the game’s expansion, the developers shared that nft staking will take place on Shibarium, Shiba Inu Games’ own blockchain platform, highlighting their commitment to incorporating blockchain technology deeper into the gaming experience.
Players looking to participate in Shiba Eternity can take part in a variety of competitive formats, from friendly matches to qualifying and seasonal tournaments. Participation in these tournaments offers significant in-game rewards, enhancing both the challenge and rewards of competitive play.
