ChatGPT leverages the Bing API to search data with the text-based Internet browser to guide through websites and results.
One of the most famous AI-powered chatbots, ChatGPT, has been updated with a new feature that allows you to access information from online sources and communicate with third-party websites through new plugins.
The plugin feature is currently restricted in alpha phase and will be offered to a smaller group of users before rolling out to the general public. Users can sign up for the waiting list to take advantage of the new feature in ChatGPT Plus, OpenAI announced on March 23.
Previously, only eleven plugins were offered. These plugins spanned multiple ranges and allowed customers to check the score of a live sporting event and book an international flight at the same time. The firm also said that it is now consistently rolling out plugins to test their real-world use cases.
The best part about plugins is that they are tools curated for security-focused language models, helping ChatGPT examine up-to-date information, run calculations, and leverage third-party use cases, according to OpenAI. There are a variety of websites supported by the new plugins, for example, eCommerce websites like Shopify, Klarna, and Instacart. There are several other travel search engines like Expedia and Kayak that use this feature as well.
Plugins also include the Wolfram math computer for calculations and the Slack business messaging app. Some other apps include FiscalNote, Milo Family Al, OpenTable, Shop, Speak, and Zapier.
ChatGPT take advantage of the Bing API to search data with the text-based Internet browser to guide through websites and results. He is also capable of fabricating information from various sources to provide some structured support for his answer. ChatGPT can also additionally cite the source when replying.
OpenAI has also revealed that the plugin options were introduced after seeing increased demand from its customers after ChatGPT was initially introduced on November 30.
Michael Hashimoto, the founder of software company HashiCorp and an early user of the ChatGPT plugin API, said in a Twitter post that it is one of the “most impressive computing applications” he uses.
A few weeks ago, OpenAI released the newest version of AI Chatbot called ChatGPT-4. As of now, the new model has been able to conveniently pass all high school and law school exams with a 90th percentile.
Also, for the Evidence-Based SAT Reading and Writing and SAT Mathematics tests that US high schools take to assess their readiness for college, GPT -4 was able to pass all of them with a staggering 93rd percentile and 89 respectively.
