The move comes against a backdrop of growing institutional adoption of bitcoin, particularly following the recent approval of several bitcoin ETFs in the United States. Continuing to push forward as a resilient asset class, bitcoin is expanding its use cases beyond peer-to-peer payments to encompass store-of-value functions and serve as a foundation for innovation in areas like NFTs and DeFi, Brave said in the advertisement.
“Our goal with Brave Wallet is to offer the most secure and privacy-friendly software wallet for everyday use,” said James Mudgett, vice president of Web3 products at Brave. “As the bitcoin ecosystem expands with new applications and services, Brave Wallet will be there to prioritize security and privacy, to help keep users' assets safe.”
Looking ahead, Brave says it plans to introduce more privacy-enhancing features within the Brave Wallet. Additionally, the company intends to allow users to store BRC-20 and Ordinals tokens within the Brave Wallet, and these features are expected to be available on all desktop and mobile versions of the browser later this year.
