Acting legend Bill Murray recently delivered on the first central promise surrounding last year’s eventful NFT ‘Bill Murray 1000’ collection. As a result, he took on the role of ‘guest of honour’ at the recent members-only event at Goat Hill Park in Oceanside California.
The NFT Headlines Party, which was hosted by the ‘Bill Murray 1,000’ NFT project, was attended by collectors and industry insiders who were there to meet the 72-year-old comedy icon. Murray’s presence added a bit of humor and sparkle to an already exciting event, and people were eager to take pictures and speak with the Hollywood legend.

Last weekend, Bill Murray and his partners caused quite a stir at the exclusive NFT event hosted by Web3 startup Project Venkman and comedy website The Chive. Held at an Oceanside, California golf course, the “Bill Murray 1,000 NFT Project” brought together Murray fans for a day of NFT fun and excitement.
Murray hosted pie-eating contests, told stories and talked to fans for hours, giving them a unique and memorable experience. This event served as a proof of concept for NFT’s celebrity projects, with Project Venkman and The Chive hoping to replicate their success with future live events for Murray fans.

The actor joined the NFT market with a collection that combines his trademark humor and love of giving back to the community. In a recent interview, Murray stated that he would only participate in NFTs if they could be fun and do something good in the process.
Bill Murray’s NFTs include generative art by the actor, written stories from his life, access to live events, and membership in a private community. Sales from the collection benefited the Chive Charity, as well as other causes, including Goat Hill, a rehabbed community space that was spared from development.
The first batch of Original Invoice (OB) NFTs sold out in just 30 seconds after launching on Coinbase NFT last July. Sales generated nearly $1.4 million worth of ETH, with buyers willing to spend more than $1,850 to join the exclusive community.
