BAYC had a lot to reflect on yesterday. In less than two years after the collection's inception, its popularity skyrocketed, leading to a record $3.4 million sale for the most valuable Ape ever sold (BAYC #8817).
The project has attracted star-studded list of headlines from various fields, including Justin Bieber, Eminem, Serena Williams, Stephen Curry, Shaquille O'Neal and Jimmy Fallon.
Taking advantage of the funds obtained from the sales, BAYC has opened its own wine company, taken control of Roblox, urban clothing designed with BAPE, immersive games createdand joined the metaverse—even with companies like Adidas—to name a few.
BMW in particular twitter.com/BMW/status/1782814153926713740″ target=”_blank” rel=”noopener”>led to to express warm birthday wishes to the Ape team, stating: “We are going to make monkeys in Portugal“, teasing the possibility that something exciting is brewing between the two brands for the next event.
Despite a loyal fan base and diverse businesses, sales of the nft project have declined since peaking. Daily sales, which reached $53 million in August 2021, have now fallen to $458,856, according to data from CryptoSlam.
Even in a slowdown, BAYC remains strong. Yesterday's sale of BAYC #8944 for $44,817 (13.7800 eth) highlights its continued appeal, reinforced by its active community.
