The band has been quiet for a while, creating a lot of excitement among their fans. However, the silence came to an end on March 14 when they released their latest single. “Nobody” before announcing an upcoming album titled “Life is nothing but a dream” which will be released on June 2.
To promote the new project, Avenged Sevenfold plans to embark on a massive tour sponsored by Ticketmaster.
Fans are upset with Ticketmaster’s price of Avenged Sevenfold tickets
However, the tie-in with Ticketmaster has not been without controversy. Fans of the band have taken to Reddit to express their discontent with what they see as price exploitation by Ticketmaster. One fan posted a screenshot of a payment form consisting of six tickets, each priced at $282, but all carrying a service fee of $325.74, which meant that each ticket attracted an additional fee. from $54.29.
The post drew the ire of fans, with many proclaiming their hatred for the service fees. As it turns out, this is common practice for Ticketmaster, as Robert Smith, frontman for The Cure, points out. Ticketing services had also overpriced the band’s tickets, and it took intervention by the members to bring them into an affordable range. Smith points out that he was “sick” by Ticketmaster’s pricing practices.
Now it remains to be seen if the members of Avenged Sevenfold step in to fix this issue for their fans. The band launched their NFT collection in November 2021, featuring 10,000 unique pieces with different traits and rarities that sought to reward holders with a variety of goodies.
