Bugatti x Asprey NFT Collection: Everything you need to know
The limited-edition Bugatti NFT collections are backed by blockchain and are created using Asprey Studio’s cutting-edge production techniques and materials. The Asprey Bugatti Egg Collection is both a physical “object” and a generative NFT artwork. It is also the first collection from two luxury brands to use cutting-edge technique. This is in terms of writing digital content to the Bitcoin blockchain. This ensures that the artwork will last indefinitely.
The Asprey Bugatti Egg Collection Royale edition is inspired by Carlo Bugatti, the father of Ettore Bugatti. It is he who once said: “The purest perfect form in nature is the egg”. The Royale Edition eggshell is carbon fiber and intricately crafted into the perfect egg shape in a long and complex process. This process is completely free of disproportion or imperfection. Additionally, it is encased within a latticework of sterling silver diamonds, gently sloping downward to a curved base. This shape portrays movement and echoes Asprey’s heritage in jewelry. It also combines the ornate furniture designs of Carlo Bugatti and art nouveau, a significant era for both brands.
The surface of the egg itself shows a “Dancing Elephant” motif. This is recreated in perfect detail from one of Rembrandt Bugatti’s original sculptures. Asprey Studio traveled to Bugatti’s home in France to precisely 3D scan the mascot on the bonnet of one of the few remaining Type 41 Royale cars, to recreate the sculpture in detail.
The intricate mesh and carbon fiber structure opens with an intricately hinged Asprey diamond door. This reveals a scene from Chateau Saint Jean, Bugatti’s iconic home in Molsheim. In front of which is a stylized Bugatti Type 41 Royale Esders in sterling silver, removable if the owner wishes.
