Zklend's explorator lost the 2,930 eth in a Phishing scam while trying to wash the stolen money using what they thought was an effective tornado.
According to a March 31 publication over x by Consensys, Fi.FI Antivirus Web3, the attacker enclosed the stolen funds on a false website of Cash Tornado, which resulted in an immediate loss. The data in the chain shows that after realizing the error, the hacker sent a desperate message to the address of the Zklend implemer, admitting his mistake.
“I tried to move the funds to the tornado, but I used a Phishing website, and all the funds have been lost. I am devastated,” the hacker wrote. They continued apologized by the attack and urged Zklend to focus their recovery efforts on Phishing's scam operators.
