Time’s gone, the song’s over, I thought I had something else to say. –Pink Floyd
It is with no little sadness that I must say goodbye to you. Much like The Floyd’s work, in the time I’ve been involved with Ethereum I’ve tried the gamut of emotions. From the amazement of meeting so many great people (including Jani and Wendell) in Miami in January 2014, to meeting Jeff for the first time in February 2014 for the first real face-to-face client collaboration, to traveling the the United States in March 2014 and meet luminaries like Joel and Juan. And then there was the excitement of setting up EthDev and building a team with my serial co-conspirator Aeron, meeting the amazing coders Martin and Roman at DevCon-0, and testing the depths of my intellect with Matt and Tim at Ethash. .
But enough about the past; Endings surely attract opportunities if you just look hard enough, and this is no different. Along with lead developers Arkadiy and Marek and a host of others (old and new faces alike), I’ll be working to make the dream come true as part of a bright new company.
I’m afraid I’ll let my C++ rust a bit while I explore various technology avenues beyond the cpp-ethereum core. However, I will do my best to support and guide Bob, Christoph and others as they move into new realms and provide a bit of competition for the other teams.
The road ahead is bumpy for sure, but we know what we have to do and the views, I hope, will be magnificent. Goodbye and thanks for all the fish.
