London, UK, June 14, 2016 – The Ethereum Foundation is pleased to announce Microsoft as a title sponsor of Devcon2, the Ethereum developer conference in Shanghai, September 19-21, 2016.
Showcasing the most up-to-date Foundation-supported research and development work, Devcon2 also represents the most comprehensive Ethereum-focused developer conference to date.
Ethereum Foundation Chief Scientist Vitalik Buterin notes, “We are very pleased to have Microsoft sponsor Devcon2 and greatly appreciate their continued support and collaboration with the Ethereum Foundation and the Ethereum ecosystem. We hope to continue working together in the future.”
Microsoft, an early leader with its Blockchain as a Service (BaaS), provides a hyperscale open cloud platform and a sprawling ecosystem of blockchain technologies for enterprises, consortia, and governments seeking to adopt the technology. As part of the conference, Ethereum developers will hear from Microsoft experts and learn about Microsoft Azure’s leading tools for blockchain development.
“We are thrilled to support the Ethereum Foundation’s Devcon2, which will bring together blockchain pioneers from around the world,” said Marley Gray, Head of Blockchain and Distributed Ledger Business Development, Microsoft. “The Ethereum blockchain is powerful and we look forward to continuing the collaborative relationship with the Ethereum community, bringing together the best of blockchain technology to our cloud platform, Microsoft Azure.”
While Devcon2 is still a standalone event, this year it is being presented as part of the International Blockchain Week along with Wanxiang Blockchain Labs events. The week-long single venue format works to provide both the development-focused Devcon2 and business and industry-focused Global Summit events in one week to facilitate greater interaction and cross-pollination between people involved in different areas or aspects of blockchain technology.
Save the date and check the Ethereum blog for regular updates until the event website is live at the end of June.
