ethereum Foundation has announced plans to eliminate the reduction of Holesky in September 2025 due to recurring problems that have hindered the evidence for the next sicking update.

Issues
Holesky found important problems during the sicking update test last month.
Several execution clients, including Geth, Nethermind and Besu, used incorrect deposit contract addresses, causing an execution layer error. This caused chain divisions, weakening the stability of the network.
Sepolia, another ethereum Testnet, faced similar problems due to custom deposit contracts. However, he recovered quickly.
In contrast, Holesky fought with inactivity leaks that are validated complicated.
Although since then the network has been finished, eliminating the validators out would have been almost a year. This delay caused that it was not practical to test the life cycle of the complete validator within a reasonable time.
The Foundation said that, although Holesky still allows stakers to try deposits and other pein features, their exit tail limits the broadest tests. As a result, ethereum decided to change the tests of sicking to Hoodi's net.
Despite this change, Holesky will remain available for selected tests, including gas limit increases, until your support officially ends in September 2025.
Transition to Hoodi
The Hoodi Testnet will be responsible for the sirty update tests, with activation established for March 26, 2025, at 2048, around 7:37 UTC.
The rethinking operators and infrastructure suppliers are expected to migrate their validator tests to this new environment.
In addition, ethereum announced that the sepolia Testnet will be replaced in March 2026, with the support of ceasing in September 2026.
Hoodi is expected to remain active until September 2028, after which ethereum will suspend the support.
