Steven Nerayoff, an early ethereum advisor, provided an update on his long-awaited lawsuit against co-founders Vitalik Buterin, Joseph Lubin, and the ethereum Foundation. The lawsuit, based on allegations of corruption and fraudulent activities, is gaining attention for its potential impact on the eth ecosystem.
Nerayoff's involvement with ethereum dates back to its beginnings, and his insider perspective lends weight to his claims. In response to a community member's question about the progress of the lawsuit, Nerayoff saying,
We are working on it. The reach continues to grow. It's a monster and complicated. It's my focus every day and it's become much more compelling. Nobody is more impatient than me. It's driving me crazy and costing me a fortune, but it has to be done right.
To further delve into the case, Nerayoff has joined forces with TruthLabs (@BoringSleuth), a renowned on-chain detective, to uncover on-chain evidence that allegedly implicates Buterin, Lubin, and the ethereum Foundation in fraudulent activities. Nerayoff recently commented: “We are filing an unfair lawsuit. But in it I will file other aspects. “We will also make public incriminating evidence from me, @BoringSleuth and others.”
As reported by Bitcoinist, TruthLabs found evidence that the eth Foundation was involved in the Gatecoin hack in 2016, which resulted in a loss of 185,000 eth and 250 btc. Nerayoff is also in contact with other ethereum experts who can provide irrefutable evidence of the alleged fraudulent activity.
In a detailed statement on
He stated: “So why are they silent now that @BoringSleuth and I have made specific accusations with receipts or on-chain data? Because the legal advice for criminals guilty of mass crimes is to remain silent. Vitalik, Lubin and others will be the victims. Those above will sacrifice them.”
The ethereum Foundation faces another eye-catching lawsuit
At the same time, another legal battle involving the ethereum Foundation is unfolding. Joel Dietz, who was also deeply involved in the early days of eth, filed a lawsuit alleging breach of partnership and deception. lawsuit about the development and subsequent management of MetaMask, a widely used cryptocurrency wallet. According to Dietz, his partner Aaron Davis continued to secretly develop the project and profit from it without notifying other partners.
Nerayoff, expressing solidarity with Dietz, commented, “I am good friends with Joel Dietz and we were both in ethereum in 2014. I believe Joel's claim as a co-founder of MetaMask. Joel is brilliant and honest. Lubin is stupid and corrupt. Lubin is trying to erase it from his history just like he did to me and ethereum. #ElLibroLubin”
The crypto community is closely following these developments. The lawsuits could have far-reaching implications, not only for the individuals and entities involved, but also for governance and ethical standards within the ethereum ecosystem.
At the time of this publication, eth was trading at $2,313.
