Coinbase has announced its support for the zeal migration of an independent layer 1 block block chain to an ethereum Layer-2 network.
The transition will begin on March 25 with Coinbase temporarily suspending the deposits and withdrawals of the native zeal token, CGLD, during the update.
The cell movement to layer 2 aims to take advantage of the robust security of ethereum (eth) and an expansive ecosystem while retaining its distinctive characteristics, such as low transaction rates and rapid settlement times.
This strategic change is expected to improve scalability, reduce costs and improve interoperability with ethereum -based applications.

Coinbase has assured users that their CGLD tokens will become automatically during migration, which does not require any action on their part. However, the exchange advises to refrain from depositing CGLD during the migration window to avoid processing delays.
Notifications by email will be sent to users to inform when the services are disabled and when they have resumed.
Migration process
The migration process includes significant technical changes, such as faster block confirmations and the introduction of native bridges between zeal and ethhereum, improving the safety and efficiency of asset transfers.
Despite these changes, the Token Ticker for the Celo Layer-2 Red in Coinbase will continue as CGLD.
