Andre Chronje, founder of Sonic Labs and called “Defi Godfather”, has criticized the solutions of ethereum L2 for its management of profits and potential misalignment with the decentralized principles of ethereum.

Be l2. Have a centralized sequencer. Generate $ 120 million in rates. Pay ethereum $ 10 million of that amount for Da & Security. Dump $ 110 million for profit. Be “Aligned ethereum.”
I do not understand how ethereal are convinced with these mental gymnastics.

“I don't understand how ethereal are convinced with these mental gymnastics. L2 are why ethereum is inflationary again. “
Base, ethereum L2 of Coinbase, responded to criticism through its protagonist of strategy, Kabir.
“The base is and will continue to grow ethereum. We are investing all our profits and resources to do this. Base and Coinbase have more than 100,000 eth, more than $ 300 million, which makes it the highest possession of any public company today, ”Kabir wrote.

This narrative is simply not true, here are the facts:
The base is and will continue to grow ethereum. We are investing all our profits and resources to do this and we have passed millions of new people in 1.5 years.

The debate focuses on two visions on competition for ethereum's scalability.
Critics argue that L2 generate substantial income while returning only one fraction to ethereum for the availability and safety of data.
Defenders of decentralized scalability, including chronje, advocate to improve the ethereum base layer directly using solutions such as Sonic to reduce dependence on L2 external suppliers.
Julio Moreno, Chief of Research of Cryptoquant, said that ethereum's supply has now exceeded the levels prior to the merger (September 2022), confirming the return of the network to inflation.

The eth supply is now higher than before the merger.
Nine months ago we published an analysis of why this would be the case.

To address the inefficiencies of ethereum L2 solutions, Andre Chronje has proposed to take advantage of Sonic technology to avoid the limitations of centralized models.
