Pakistan presents plans to legalize bitcoin and cryptography and implement a regulatory framework to attract foreign investment and boost adoption.
Bin Saqib, CEO of the crypto Council of Pakistan, said <a target="_blank" href="https://www.bloomberg.com/news/articles/2025-03-20/pakistan-plans-to-legalize-crypto-in-bid-for-foreign-investment” target=”_blank” rel=”noopener”>Bloomberg Thursday That Pakistan has presented plans to legalize bitcoin and cryptography and implement a regulatory framework to attract foreign investment and boost adoption.

The Government aims to devise clear regulations and align with international best practices. Pakistan finance minister formed the PCC last week to direct the country's cryptography strategy.
“Pakistan has finished sitting aside” regarding bitcoin and crypto, Saqib said Bloomberg. “We want to attract international investment because Pakistan is a low -cost and high growth market with 60% of the population under 30 years.”

“Trump is making the cryptographic a national priority, and all countries, including Pakistan, will have to do the same.” <a target="_blank" href="https://www.bloomberg.com/news/articles/2025-03-20/pakistan-plans-to-legalize-crypto-in-bid-for-foreign-investment” target=”_blank” rel=”noopener”>said.
This movement occurs in the midst of a global change in attitudes towards bitcoin and crypto after the United States pressed for greater conventional acceptance. The new position is a marked change for Pakistan, which had previously forbidden crypto. By hugging bitcoin and crypto early, Pakistan is looking to position himself as a regional leader and attract investors.
The Central Bank of Pakistan had expressed concern before. However, the government now seeks to mitigate risks through prudent legislation. Clear rules could boost innovation and prevent potential abuse of decentralized networks.
