mount capea Swiss-based cryptocurrency exchange, has announced new support for Bitcoin’s Lightning Network in its app.
The press release sent to Bitcoin Magazine describes how “users can now get Bitcoin directly on the Lightning network easily, via card or bank transfer, spend, receive and manage their sats with the Mt Pelerin Bridge Wallet mobile app and withdraw funds from Lightning back into your bank account in 14 currencies.”
The app and exchange serve 171 countries and six languages around the world. Swiss regulation allows users to buy and sell bitcoins without the need for identification for amounts less than CHF1,000 per day. This preserves privacy against the growing threats related to compromised personal information.
“Mt Pelerin plans to allow power users to run their own Lightning node on Bridge Wallet in the near future,” the statement explains. “In the meantime, the current version takes care of all of Lightning’s complex channel and liquidity management functions for the user. This allows for a much easier user experience and completely free transactions. Those who already run their own Lightning node and wallet can, of course, use the service to buy and sell satellites.”
There is also mention of exploring a merchant payments solution, which could greatly grow the business end of the Lightning Network. The instant and virtually free transactions that Lighting enables are especially useful for merchants and express the power of Bitcoin in a tangible way for users.
