The Ukraine national soccer team has secured a sponsorship deal with an industry player who wants to engage fans and promote cryptocurrency adoption. As part of the deal, an EU-based coin trading platform will be the team’s crypto partner for the next three years.
Whitebit Exchange Aims to Expand Ukraine’s Crypto Community by Engaging Soccer Fans
Whitebit, a European cryptocurrency exchange with Ukrainian roots, has agreed to a long-term partnership with the Ukraine national football team. Under the agreement, its logo will appear during team matches, cryptocurrency news outlet Forklog reported, citing the company.
“We are in the same field with football fans, so we are just delighted, because we have just partnered with the Ukrainian National Football Team. With this, we will support Ukrainian sports and expand the Ukrainian crypto community,” the trading platform said in a statement. blog post.
Whitebit becomes the official crypto partner of the team until 2026. During that period, the exchange will hold various educational and entertainment events for those who want to learn more about blockchain, as well as fan competitions at the House of Football in Kyiv.
The plan is to involve football fans in joint projects to promote the widespread use of cryptocurrencies in the Ukrainian sports sector and in the country as a whole. In recent years, the Eastern European nation has established itself as a regional leader in terms of cryptocurrency adoption.
Since the beginning of the Russian invasion, Ukraine has relied on donations in various currencies to finance defense and humanitarian efforts. The cryptocurrency industry has provided support and Whitebit, along with the world’s largest cryptocurrency exchange Binance, was one of the companies that offered help.
“We are confident that as a result of our partnership, even more people will discover cryptocurrencies, their convenience and accessibility,” commented Volodymyr Nosov, CEO of Lithuania-based Whitebit.
This isn’t Whitebit’s first effort in the world of soccer. In December 2022, the exchange became an official partner of the Spanish soccer giant Barcelona.
