The Prime Minister of Canada, Justin Trudeau, has announced that he will officially resign from his position and as leader of the Liberal Party of Canada, effective when the party elects his successor.
Trudeau has faced massive criticism in recent years due to his inability to solve the housing shortage, inflation and other economic struggles facing the country. He has also stated that he is fighting internal battles and therefore cannot be the best choice for the country in the next Canadian federal election in 2025.

Trudeau, known for his anti-bitcoin stance along with his other poor economic policies, said in early 2023 that his political opponent and Conservative Party of Canada leader Pierre Poilievre was unfit for leadership because he correctly told citizens Canadians who chose not to participate. of inflation by having bitcoin. Trudeau cherry-picked data from when Poilievre said that and used it as an attempt to make holding bitcoins look like a bad decision, claiming that Canadians would have lost half their life savings if they had bought bitcoins.
If Trudeau had been intellectually honest and able to see the bigger picture, he would have also encouraged his citizens to accumulate bitcoins, because the price of bitcoin has increased by approximately 375% since Trudeau tried to mock saving in bitcoins.

Canada will have a federal election later this year and has the potential to elect the next global bitcoin leader: Pierre Poilievre. Poilievre is a strong supporter of bitcoin and has worked to understand what money is. Below is an excellent 10-minute speech by Poilievre on money, which really shows his deep knowledge of it. And here is another speech in which Poilievre <a target="_blank" href="https://x.com/SimplyBitcoinTV/status/1876305695353835871″>says “The bottom line is that we are increasing the money supply, which causes inflation. “We are printing money to fund irresponsible government spending.”

Similar to how Trump visited PubKey in New York City to purchase burgers and drinks using the bitcoin Lightning Network, Poilievre also visited a local bitcoin business to purchase food with bitcoin. In 2023, he visited a Canadian. <a target="_blank" href="https://x.com/TheRealTahinis”>restaurant accept bitcoin as payment and pay in btc for food, further showing their openness to accepting the asset and promoting its use as a medium of exchange and not just a store of value.

Bitcoiners in Canada have the opportunity to vote for a Prime Minister who has sound economic policies and promotes the use of bitcoin. If this happens, they would join the ranks of the United States, El Salvador and other countries that have leaders embracing bitcoin and its benefits. Canada's elections are scheduled for October 20, 2025 or earlier.
Personally, I think Poilievre is the best choice for Canada in this election, not only because of his pro-bitcoin stance, but because of his economic policies, his freedom-oriented mentality and his rational thinking. I hope to see Canada embrace bitcoin and solve its economic problems caused by the mismanagement of the economy by Trudeau and the Liberal Party of Canada by electing new Conservative leadership and encouraging greater use of bitcoin in the country.
So Canadians, go out and vote for Poilievre in this election. This is your chance to make history and embrace the future of finance with bitcoin.
