Issuers of spot bitcoin exchange-traded funds (ETFs) are ramping up their marketing campaigns as they scramble to secure first-mover advantage ahead of expected approvals next month.
In less than 48 hours, three announcements focused on bitcoin ETFs have been published, two of them from Bitwise and one from Hashdex.
hashdex is the latest to join the fray with an announcement introducing people to the idea of a managed crypto investment.
“stocks are not crypto,” he says. “Fixed income is not crypto. Precious metals? No. Neither does cryptography. Your bitcoin investment deserves a cryptocurrency-focused company. Hashdex.”

Bitwise posted its first ad on December 18, featuring actor Jonathan Goldsmith, who says, “You know what's cool these days?…bitcoin.”

Bitwise had the same character in a subsequent commercial just two days later, this time referencing Satoshi Nakamoto, the pseudonymous father of bitcoin.
In this ad, he says, “I thought you might like to know… Satoshi sends his regards,” and closes with the same call to action he used in the first commercial: “Look for Bitwise, my friends.”

Goldsmith is known as “The Most Interesting Man in the World,” a character portrayed in an advertising campaign with Dos Equis beer.
Filers Demonstrate Confidence in Imminent Timely bitcoin ETF Approvals
The commercials are a sign of confidence by fund managers that the US Securities and Exchange Commission will approve btc spot ETFs and Bloomberg Intelligence says there is a 90% chance that will happen before from January 10.
According to Samson Mow, bitcoin pioneer and CEO of btc infrastructure company JAN3, marketing campaigns are a struggle for investors, inflows and assets under management (AUM), with branding being the main differentiator.
Secondly, they will not sit passively waiting to win. No. They will fight for AUM and customers. How do companies fight? They advertise and market. Case in point: bit by bit ad.
