It’s summer, which means it’s time for sunshine and sprints. The 2024 edition of Summer Games Done Quick (SGDQ), the annual charity sprint marathon, kicks off on Sunday and runs through July 6. This year's lineup Once again it's packed with races for some of my favorite games including Balatro, Alan Wake 2, Elden Ring, Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 1, 2, 3 and 4 (all in one race), no glitches Baldur's Gate 3 Run Honor mode and a shipless ship Outer Wilds run (how???).
But my most anticipated race is a live speed race of Peanut Butter, the shiba inu who performed a remote race from the NES game. gyromite at Awesome Games Done Quick in January. At SGDQ, Peanut Butter will be live at the event playing Ken Griffey Jr. introduces Major League Baseball for the Super NES. Peanut Butter's goal is to beat a game in 30 minutes. The race is scheduled for July 4 at 8:43 p.m. ET.
