Tether Operations Limited, a leading company in the digital assets industry, has announced the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with RAK Digital Assets Oasis (RAK DAO). This MoU marks the initial step towards the launch of several strategic initiatives aimed at fostering the adoption of bitcoin technology and stablecoins in Ras Al Khaimah (RAK), the northernmost emirate of the United Arab Emirates. The collaboration will allow Tether and RAK DAO to work together to facilitate the adoption of crypto payments in the region and develop educational programs focused on blockchain.

Partnership to boost cryptocurrency adoption and blockchain education

RAK DAO is the first and only one in the world Common Law Free Zone dedicated to digital and virtual asset companies. It is critical to the region's efforts to promote Web3 innovation and stimulate economic growth in the emirate. Recently, Tether launched its educational arm, Tether Edu, which will spearhead initiatives for people of varying skill levels. These initiatives will cover advanced fields such as bitcoin, blockchain, peer-to-peer technologies, stablecoin adoption, and practical use cases of cryptocurrencies.

To date, RAK DAO has attracted the interest of more than 100 companies. Accordingly, Tether will work closely with RAK DAO on comprehensive initiatives designed to educate and empower local businesses, creating new opportunities for growth and innovation.
