On April 3, 2024, ZachXBT revealed that Kyle raised the alarm on his Discord server, claiming that his wallets had been hacked.
Instead, the prominent blockchain researcher's findings strongly suggested a deliberate transfer of funds rather than an external hack.
Kyle accused of forging hack
While twitter.com/zachxbt/status/1775233644417741260″ target=”_blank” rel=”noopener” data-wpel-link=”external”>doing research In an alleged hack involving a “social gamer,” Kyle, and a lesser-known nft project called ‘NuddiesNFT,’ ZachXBT found a disturbing narrative of lies and deception. However, the network's popular detective uncovered a different story.
Within hours of the alleged hack, 94 SOL tokens worth around $12,000 were traced to an exchange deposit address. It then found a target transaction for 3.42 eth, worth around $11,700 through timing analysis.
The Ether was then used to purchase high-value nfts, notably DeGods 2921 and y00t 10991, which were quickly transferred to Kyle's public ENS address.
Kyle reportedly brazenly flaunted the ill-gotten gains, featuring the DeGods nft as his profile picture on social media platforms. This brazen display is compounded by their post-hack behavior, where they changed topics to share motivational quotes on Discord, seemingly oblivious to the indelible record of their actions on the blockchain.
However, ZachXBT's latest research serves as a sobering reminder of the transparency inherent in blockchain technology despite rampant scams and rug-pulling.
Shortly after ZachXBT's publication, Kyle twitter.com/kyledegods” target=”_blank” rel=”noopener” data-wpel-link=”external”>removed your x account (formerly twitter).
As for NuddiesNFT, the project twitter.com/NuddiesNFT/status/1775445019257618444″ target=”_blank” rel=”noopener” data-wpel-link=”external”>saying that its creator's wallet was replenished with $12K. The private keys, however, were entrusted to two members of the community. After Kyle was removed, new owners were also brought in to oversee the project.
While some investors remained hopeful about the project, others claim that Nuddies is another fraudulent nft project that will soon disappear.
