To celebrate the launch of Astar zkEVM, an ethereum Layer 2 solution powered by Polygon, Red Astar have revealed “Or origins”a gamified web3 adventure.
In Yoki Origins, participants collect and evolve NFTs of Yoki characters, based on Japanese culture and folklore, while exploring the Astar zkEVM ecosystem.
The web3 adventure is backed by some of the biggest names in business and web3, including CASIO, Japan Airlines, QuickSwap and more, and is available now.

Inspired by the 'yokai' spirits of Japanese folklore and created by a team of talented Japanese illustratorsIn Yoki Origins, participants explore the Astar zkEVM ecosystem to collect unique NFTs from various companies using the network.
These companies will distribute and sell NFTs of unique Yoki characters from custom “Yo-Port” machines, as well as toy capsules on the Yoki Origins website, with first edition capsules now available.
By interacting with projects across the Astar zkEVM ecosystem, players will accumulate Lore and OMA points, an in-game item. These can be used to evolve your Yoki, turning them into truly unique NFTs.

Through evolution, Yoki can obtain a wide range of utilities.
Examples include a premium subscription to DappRadar and premium access to XO, a web3 dating app, with many more to discover.
In addition to those already mentioned, notable companies participating include Kyushu Railway Company, CANDY GIRL, Dew, and Rarible, to name a few.
