The Niuex Society, a New Orleans-based Web3 company, has launched Mardi Gras-themed NFTs that offer holders special privileges. The carnival-themed event kicks off on February 21, and Niuex has found a way to use NFTs to allow special access. So, for $160, you’ll get an NFT pass that gives you access to food and drinks.
Plus, the pass offers access to private parties, exclusive performances, special events, and even restrooms along the parade route. Interestingly, the latter has attracted ridicule online, as some people can’t imagine the need for a pass to access the toilets. However, you can’t underestimate the importance of finding a decent bathroom in a crowded parade.
That being said, Mardi Gras-themed NFTs are made up of a collection of 5,000 AI-generated digital collectibles. These NFTs will be available for purchase later this week.
In a press release, Tim Williamson, co-founder and CEO of the Nieux Society, notes that “Members of the Nieux Society used this cutting-edge technology to create a collective vision of Mardi Gras while using NFT technology to provide holders with exclusive access, benefits, and an ongoing invitation to join us on our journey to help New Orleans. to develop their full creative potential. .”

NieuxCo Mardi Gras Themed NFTs Are Nothing New
Due to their unique features, NFTs are becoming more and more popular as access passes pass. Last August, a restaurant in New York tried to use them for reservations, but faced a similar backlash to what the Nieux Society faces for its Mardi Gras bathroom pass. Some have even gone so far as to describe them as scammers that sell securities without a license.
However, it looks like this use case is here to stay, as NFT passes make it easy to track and prove ownership. So far, there are several businesses that use them, such as the Flyfish Club. Their NFTs offer holders access to high-end seafood restaurants. However, they are not cheap, with one costing around 2.7 ETH.
