According BloombergApple's Mark Gurman is planning big hardware announcements for early 2024. In his Power On newsletter, Gurman predicts the company will launch the next generation iPad Pro and iPad Air in March. Gurman says the MacBook Air M3 will likely arrive in March as well, in the usual 13-inch and 15-inch configurations. And Apple may also kill off the 2020 M1 MacBook Air at that time.
The company also reportedly plans to make more obvious distinctions between its iPad families. The iPad Pro is expected to have Apple's new M3 chip, an OLED display, and be available in two sizes: 11 and 13 inches. Meanwhile, the iPad Air will come in a 10.9-inch and a new 12.9-inch version and will use the M2 chip.
If you're waiting for a new Mac Studio and Mac Pro, they'll arrive later.

Researchers made virtual reality glasses for mice
For science, it is not a gamble.
Scientists have been using virtual reality setups to study brain activity in lab mice for years. In the past, they surrounded mice with flat screens, with obvious limitations in simulating a realistic environment. Now, a team at Northwestern University has developed small virtual reality glasses that fit onto a mouse's face. As you see above.
In their tests, the researchers say the mice appeared to adapt to the new virtual reality environment more quickly than with previous setups. To recreate aerial threats, such as birds swooping down to eat, the team projected expanding dark spots across the top of the screens. The way they react to threats “is not a learned behavior; it's imprinted behavior,” said co-author Dom Pinke.
