Fidelity Spot bitcoin ETF Ticker Also Revealed
The cryptographic medium bitcoin Magazine first reported this development of the DTCC list in an X (formerly Twitter) mail. Fidelity's ticker for its Spot bitcoin ETF was also revealed, as it will trade under the 'FBTC' ticker. Commenting on this development, Eric Balchunas, Bloomberg analyst noted that almost all issuers have already revealed their tickers.
With that almost out of the way, Balchunas mentioned that the next thing to look out for are the fees these contributors will set for their ETF offering. However, this information may not come anytime soon, as the analyst stated that it will likely be a last-minute decision before launch as issuers will be reluctant to show their hand.
This is also very likely considering that the fees may be what gives these issuers a competitive advantage over others if the SEC eventually approves all applications simultaneously. If the SEC does that, no one will get a bitcoin/valkyrie-ethereum–bitcoin-etf/#:~:text=Eyes%20ETH%20ETF-,Valkyrie%20Unveils%20Double%2DBarreled%20Approach%20To%20Launch%20An,ETF%20Alongside%20A%20Bitcoin%20ETF&text=Valkyrie%20has%20applied%20to%20the,bitcoin%20Strategy%20ETF%20(BTF).” rel=”nofollow noopener” target=”_blank”>first move advantage and will have to resort to other means to attract investors and capture a large part of the market share.
Meanwhile, it's worth mentioning that Fidelity joins a number of other issuers that have had their bitcoin Spot ETF listed on the DTCC website. However, these listings does not necessarily mean that the SEC will approve these funds.

When these ETFs could launch
Bloomberg analysts James Seyffart and Eric Balchunas have bitcoin/bitcoin-37000-spot-etf/#:~:text=bitcoin%20has%20risen%20above%20%2436%2C000,get%20approved%20by%20January%202024.” rel=”nofollow noopener” target=”_blank”>constantly hammered about the fact that these ETFs will not launch instantly upon SEC approval. This is because there are apparently two parts that need to be clarified before these funds can be launched.
The first is the approval of 19b-4, which bitcoin/bloomberg-spot-bitcoin-etf/#:~:text=Bloomberg%20Analyst%20Predicts%20Likelihood%20Of%20A%20Spot%20Bitcoin%20ETF%20By%20January%202024,-by%20Scott%20Matherson&text=Following%20notable%20changes%20to%20the,as%20early%20as%20next%20year” rel=”nofollow noopener” target=”_blank”>could happen in january. The SEC's Division of Corporate Finance will then need to approve the S-1 filings. Scott Johnsona prominent attorney at Davis Polk, believes approval should come almost immediately after the 19b-4 approval.
He mentioned that the SEC would have waited until the 19b-4 approvals before handling the second part if it wanted to “maximize the delay.” However, considering that the issuers have already started filing your S-1spredicts that a launch just a week after 19b-4 approvals is very likely.
