To make sales go smoothly, The Sandbox has created a watchlist system that will allow community members and interested participants to secure the desired LAND.
The Sandbox is partnering with Lionsgate and Skydance for the sale of Cinerama LAND. Cinerama is a virtual cinema that gives users the privilege of creating their own immersive movie-inspired universe. The metaverse company is launching this new virtual world in hopes of reigniting rabid hopes for digital environments.
All the hype around the metaverse has calmed down after enjoying huge popularity in 2021, with several companies launching their solutions to better reach their customers. However, since it is still in its early stage, The Sandbox is making efforts to make the innovation more popular, demonstrating the company’s confidence in it as the future of the Internet.
Sebastien Borget, COO and co-founder of The Sandbox, in a statement, saying:
“We are really excited about the sale of Cinerama LAND, as it represents an important milestone for The Sandbox. “This event not only offers enthusiasts the opportunity to own a piece of film history, but also fosters an environment where creativity flourishes alongside industry giants.”
The solution will allow users to register and get opportunities to buy and develop their digital properties. This will also be a way for developers to work together, share ideas and have the opportunity to change the way movies are perceived and viewed towards a more immersive, interactive and entertaining environment.
To make sales go smoothly, The Sandbox has created a watchlist system that will allow community members and interested participants to secure the desired LAND. People on the watchlist will be able to compete for the purchase of the remaining virtual land based on how early they show interest. The auction will be available on other markets such as OpenSea and GBM so that more people participate and have the opportunity to purchase LAND.
Cinerama will feature popular films such as ‘The Walking Dead’, ‘Black Mirror’, ‘Peaky Blinders’, among others. The launch makes 400 plots of LAND available for those who want to purchase. This is not expected to be a big problem, considering The Sandbox’s impressive track record in selling its virtual land. So far, the metaverse company has been able to sell around 70% of the more than 160,000 LAND NFTs it has created.
Below are the key dates for the next LAND sale:
- Raffle Registration: Starts on November 9 at 3:00 pm (UTC) and ends on November 21 at 3:00 am (UTC).

The SAND token bounce
The launch of Cinerama is also a strategic way for The Sandbox to take advantage of this moment when its native token, SAND, is experiencing a price rally. The price has been able to hold above the October 12 support at around $0.27 and has been growing steadily since then. It has now grown more than 40% in the last month. This, amid growing interest in altcoins, also shows that investors still see some form of value in cryptocurrencies, even though the excitement around the metaverse and virtual lands has not been what it used to be. The launch of Cinerama is a good way for the company to take advantage of the price recovery and attract more potential users.
