The game has just launched its latest season, which has been called “fortnite OG.” According to developer Epic Games, the game will be updated periodically throughout the season and “each major update will bring a different phase from Battle Royale’s past.”
The rest of OG will delve deeper in the following chapters. On November 9, there will be a Season 6 themed update (i.e. quadcrashers and six-shooters), November 16 will cover Seasons 7 and 8 (Stormwing planes and mini-guns), and November 23 will cover the seasons 9 and X (jetpacks and the Baller).
This season also differs in that it is much shorter than usual. While a fortnite The season usually lasts around three months, Fortnite OG will last only four weeks. Because of this, the battle pass, called the OG pass here, will feature 50 unlockable items, half the normal pass, but will still cost the normal 950 V-bucks. (Players will be able to unlock 1,000 V-bucks by completing the pass, and it will remain free for fortnite Crew subscribers.) Naturally, the in-game store will also feature what Epic describes as “curated selections of classic, combo, and new items” for purchase.
