Microsoft has officially started testing tabs in Notepad for Windows 11. A Microsoft employee accidentally revealed that the feature was on the way over the holidays, and now the tabs appear in a Notepad update for Windows Insiders on the development pipeline today.
Tabbed support in Notepad lets you use multiple files in a single window, much like how Microsoft has implemented tabs in File Explorer in Windows 11. “There are also new keyboard shortcut keys to support tab management, as well as some improvements to unsaved file management. such as automatically generating the file name/tab title based on the content and an updated indicator of unsaved changes”, explains Dave GrochockiSenior Product Manager Lead at Microsoft.
In addition to support for Notepad tabs, Microsoft also refresh graphics settings page on Windows 11. This includes settings related to GPU preference, Auto HDR, and optimizations for windowed gaming. The settings page now has the Windows 11 UI layout, and the settings have been redesigned to make it a bit easier to use and apply graphics preferences to games and apps.
