Slides offers a way to generate images by simply typing whatever you want. By generating an image from scratch, you can create one that ideally suits the result you need. That could mean many more project-specific creations that help better engage students, without wasting time.

Or maybe you want to create a spreadsheet that pulls the grade data for the year. Ask the ai to create something that does that and it will customize the section headers with relevant columns that it can help populate using the data sets it offers.

Whatever you need, there’s a box where you type that request and then wait a moment while the ai thinks before coming across a finished version of what you’ve requested. Even if it’s not exactly right, it’s closer to finished and you can modify and edit it as needed.

It could result in their finished work being of higher quality than without the tool, which isn’t a bad thing as it can mean they are learning through suggestions that offer corrections to help them improve as they work. But it’s also worth considering how this could be used to do work for students without much input from them.

Google Meet now offers ai-generated backgrounds. This could be useful in class, if you put that image of yourself on the big screen, to make it look like you’re teaching in the place you’re talking about, for example.
