fortune magazine announced on April 4th the details of his historic second NFT release, this time teaming up with creative coder and generative artist itzel yard. The exclusive NFT features a magazine cover titled “Fortune: Crypto Rebounds From Worst Year Ever” with an iconic cover designed by the artist. The NFT will be available as ERC-721 for purchase for 0.1 ETH in a 24-hour sale starting at 1:00 pm EDT on April 9 on the Foundation platform.

Created in collaboration between Yard and generative agency ARTXCODE, the animated cover will be released exclusively as a limited edition of the April/May 2023 issue in the United States. In addition, it represents the unique cover of the European and Asian editions of the magazine, which will circulate on newsstands from April 25, 2023.
Yard designed the cover of the magazine to show his vision of cryptocurrency and NFTs as a long-term mission, applauding those who continue to build even in difficult times. “I surround myself with a community focused on building rather than just seeking quick riches or fame. Although it was a difficult year for the crypto economy, many things are changing rapidly, such as AI, ChatGPT and other technologies related to the NFT and blockchain revolution. Instead of getting bogged down in negative thoughts, I want people to see that growth.”

The latest issue of Fortune features an iconic cover showing the changing building blocks as cryptocurrencies recover from one of the worst years in their history. This continuity, despite the ups and downs, reflects the progress that has been made in the crypto ecosystem over the past year.
In order to encourage participation from the widest possible segment of the cryptocurrency community and show support for the sector during the bear period, the artwork will be trading at a reasonable price of around $170. With the launch of its second NFT, Fortune expands its coverage of Web3 and AI and adds to the conversation about how business and finance will unfold.
Itzel Yard, also known as Ix Shells, is a Panama-based self-taught creative artist and coder who has become one of the most notable names in contemporary generative art. Yard’s artwork symbolizes hope for the crypto community, which has become an important component of her artistic practice. She used Touch Designer to produce the animated cover for the historical magazine, using a 3D scrolling program, a noise algorithm, and geometries that give the impression that pixels are growing.
“The algorithm I used to make the artwork is something that stretches pixels and can turn a small black square into a larger geometric shape.” Yard said. “For me it’s like when I’m walking in the middle of a city and I look up and see all the buildings.”
