Hirst is not new to art, having started experimenting with the medium some three decades ago. Inspired by “Abstract Expressionism” and driven by the desire to devise an art-making machine, Hirst poured pigments onto canvases as they rotated, allowing “the machine to facilitate random movements and color interactions”.
The results are beautiful masterpieces that collectors have the opportunity to design for themselves through the “The Beautiful Paintings” Board in HENI. then they can “choose your own combination of colors, styles, shapes, sizes, and media to generate artwork and titles.” The end result will be unique and will have an element of randomness.
Beautiful Paintings minting is live
There are a total of 25 different art styles that collectors can choose from to design their artwork. If a collector likes what he has created, he can proceed to purchase it as a physical or digital work of art (NFT).
The minting/generation of the artworks began on March 31 and ends on April 10. The physical pieces will be printed on canvas and stretched on a frame, and will bear Hirst’s signature. As for the price, the NFTs go for $2,000 and the physical option for $1,500 to $6,000 depending on their size.
The artist is excited about his latest project and what it could mean for the future. In a tweet, he notes, “Who knows where this will all lead, but I’m so blown away by what I’ve created using all this technology to push the boundaries and create these beautiful works of art.”
Hirst is a highly respected artist who has dominated the UK art scene since the 1990s. Today he is reportedly the UK’s richest living artist, with a net worth of over $380 million. This isn’t his first foray into the digital art space. In July 2021, he launched his first NFT-related project, dubbed “Badge,” whose objective was to explore issues of “Value and monetary value”.
