What is VeeCon 2023?
VeeCon 2023 is a multi-day conference taking place in Indianapolis from May 18-20. The event brings together business leaders, artists, pop culture icons and many others at the forefront of innovation. Entrepreneur Gary Vaynerchuk created the lecture series, and last year’s inaugural VeeCon was a huge hit with attendees.
VeeCon is also the first conference to use NFT technology for ticketing. Holders of VeeFriends, a collection of NFTs created by Vaynerchuk, have preferential access to purchase NFTs that work like tickets. After that, they can either attend the conference or choose to sell their tickets on NFT secondary markets. As of today, tickets are .125 eth or $230.
The instructions on the VeeCon website provide instructions for buyers on how to create a MetaMask wallet, buy Ethereum, and buy NFTs that work like tickets. This approach fits with Vaynerchuk’s broader vision of how NFT technology will disrupt our current technology. Before last year’s event, Vaynerchuk predicted: “We will all interact with NFTs because they will be our plane tickets. It will be our receipts, it will be our US Bank Stadium tickets, it will be our membership cards. Right now we use plastic, QR codes, and email confirmations for a lot of things. I think blockchain will be consumed because it’s a better technology.”
Using NFTs to sell tickets to VeeCon 2023, Vaynerchuk provides a real-life example of how NFTs can help simplify our lives. This year’s event includes more than 140 speakers and panelists and promises to be a rallying point for the Web3 community to drive widespread adoption of crypto and NFTs.
