The difficulty changes rigidly every two weeks and measures how much computing power is required to mine Bitcoin blocks for high performance.
The mining difficulty reading hit 46.85 billion on a block high of 782,207 on the corrections, following an advance of 1.17% from the previous correction on March 11.
One measure of state power, used by miners, was around 395.16 on Thursday, hitting an all-time high.
Bitcoin’s price advanced 3.3% in the past 24 hours to trade at $28,198, an increase of 9.31% in the past seven days. The strongest coin by market capitalization traded at $20,793 on March 11.
Ethereum Faces Big Challenge After Hitting Yearly High
Ethereum traded weakly above the $1,800 level in the session today before facing a big challenge.
ETH/USD rose to a high of $1,853.88 after a previous low of $1,745.03.
The rally brought ETH to its highest point since last year, pushing prices marginally up to the $1,851 mark in that time frame. ETH bulls were unable to stabilize this breakout, which has given way to bears trying to take the market down.
