Wisconsin-based Blind Horse Winery has made history in fine wines and digital assets by launching its first NFT-labeled wine. In collaboration with VaporFithe winery has produced a 2019 Cabernet Sauvignon Collector’s Edition with an NFT label from the renowned Bored Ape Yacht Club collection.
The Bored Ape in question was acquired by VaporFi in 2022 and licensed exclusively to The Blind Horse Winery for this groundbreaking release. Tom Nye, the winery’s master winemaker and general manager, expressed his enthusiasm for the project: “It’s a product designed for cryptocurrency and wine enthusiasts, and for me, it’s the centerpiece of my collection.”
This unique blend is made up primarily of Cabernet Sauvignon, with a touch of Malbec and Petite Verdot, aged for three years in French and American oak barrels. Retailing for $100, the NFT-labeled wine represents the perfect blend of the traditional and digital worlds, marking an unprecedented collaboration between businesses on and off the chain.
With just 200 bottles of this special release, wine and cryptocurrency enthusiasts have a limited window to secure a piece of history. Nye stresses that once the wine runs out, it won’t breed: “When it’s gone, it’s gone.” He believes that this company is more than a collectible; it is also a topic of conversation that brings people together. He recommends buying two bottles, one to display and one to share with his loved ones. “Wine is really beautiful on its own, but what makes it even better is everything that goes with it, which is food, friends and family.” My explains.
Crypto Meets Wine: The Blind House Winery Aims to Revolutionize Tradition
The partnership between The Blind Horse Winery and VaporFi was forged in March of last year as the two companies sought to bridge the gap between cryptocurrency and traditional business sectors. ny said, “If you’re into cryptocurrency, you know the importance of Bored Apes and that it sparked the non-fungible token craze.”
Innovation and risk taking have become hallmarks of The Blind Horse Winery. The winery previously made headlines for being the first restaurant in the world to install lights that eliminate COVID in real time. Undeterred by the unknown, Nye and his team are looking forward to their next groundbreaking effort, though the details remain uncertain.
As their first NFT-labeled wine, this unique blend of Cabernet Sauvignon, Malbec and Petite Verdot is sure to wow connoisseurs of fine wine and cryptocurrency. It is a testament to The Blind Horse Winery’s commitment to pushing boundaries and exploring the uncharted territory of NFT, and a shining example of what can be achieved through collaboration and innovation.
