Led by Ole Schaper as CEO and Mark Buchholz as CPO, Sviper has over 25 years of combined experience collaborating with renowned brands across mobile, PC and multiplayer gaming.
The acquisition comes as no surprise to those who have been around Sviper, as the platform has been collaborating with The Sandbox for the past year and is fully integrated into its ecosystem. Sviper currently has 40 team members and is now recruiting more talent for the shift towards Metaverse-focused development.
Sviper Acquisition Boosts Sandbox Efforts
According to Sebastien Borget, co-founder and COO of The Sandbox, this acquisition boosts the creative potential of the platform. In a statement, he notes, “The German Sandbox team is a creative powerhouse already enhancing the gameplay possibilities available to our internal teams and Sandbox creators in general.”
He continued, “From adding social features to designing rules that creators can use to prototype game logic to implementing powerful multiplayer features, our team in Hamburg is supercharging the creative potential of the metaverse.”
Arthur Madrid, co-founder and CEO of The Sandbox, also thinks the same. “We have built a high level of trust with The Sandbox Germany team as they have shown great innovation and quality in working with important partners and coming up with new game concepts.”
In general, both parties involved in the deal seem delighted with the potential of working together. It’s a sentiment shared by Schaper, who points out that Sviper is “Thrilled to join The Sandbox and contribute to the creation of a cutting-edge virtual world that combines games, creativity and community.”
